Which family MPV, and which fuel?

We are looking to buy a family MPV and are considering the Peugeot 5008 or the Citroen Grand Picasso. The car will be used for general running around in the city and also taken 20 miles 3 times a week on national speed limit roads, plus longer distances for family holidays etc.

The majority of these cars seem to be diesels. Would our usage be sufficient to minimise the clogging up of the DPF? Or would we be advised to look for a petrol car?
