Electrical problem with my Toyota Yaris - what could be causing it?

Every so often the red warning light comes on and the car is stuck in 'N' so I can't move.

The engine won't turn on.

This usually happens when I'm waiting at a junction or traffic lights & want to move on. However, today it happened whilst I was driving. The car went from third gear to neutral and I slid to a halt. Whenever I've had this recurrent problem, Toyata say there is nothing they can do as the problem has resolved itself - which it patently hasn't!

Reads like this is the automated manual box, which is basically a manual box with an electrically operated clutch and an actuator that 'apes' a driver manually changing gear. The system can eventually start to play up and actuators are expensive, so just hope that it's a slightly dodgy electrical connection somewhere that can be fixed.
