Petrol or diesel Mercedes-Benz?

Having recently retired I am looking to replace my company car which was the latest model Mercedes C250 diesel sport auto which I was more than satisfied with. Mindful that I will now be driving only around 10,000 miles per year I'am considering a nearly new low mileage C180/250 petrol equivalent. Would this be a good choice?
