Help me with warranties?

As my Audi A4 Avant multironic 3 year warranty runs out in March this year, and in light of some problems I have with the gearbox, (new one fitted in January 2013) and me putting petrol in the diesil car in July 2011 for which Audi charged over £1.500 to put right. I have decided to take out an extended warranty.

As you have a lot more experience of these issues than me can you tell me which warranty you have found to be best, and any points to take into account, as reading all the small print is not always easy to understand.

You cannot warrant against pre-existing faults, or against misfilling a diesel with petrol.
