Petrol or diesel Sportage?

We have chosen the '3' spec Sportage 2wd but it only comes in diesel, the '2' spec comes in 1.6 petrol but all reports say it is underpowered.

I've driven the 1.7 diesel and it's not bad. I only do 5 or 6k a year but Kia services have told me there is no problem with DPFs and if there is it is covered under the warranty.

Would I be better getting the 2.0 AWD diesel?

I have not yet heard of any problems with DPFs on KIA 1.6 or 1.7 CRDIs so as long as you are sensible and don't repeat too many short runs from cold starts you should be okay. Great looking cars.
