Which stylish small car do you recommend for my daughter?

I have a 21-year-old daughter who is an "Essex girl". She would like to buy a small, nearly new car with looks and street cred, although I am more inclined to recommend a reliable car with low running costs. Is there something out there that ticks all the boxes?

The Fiat 500 1.2, which is probably (and surprisingly) the most reliable small car. There are more than 100,000 now on British roads and they cost from around £5500 for a four-year-old. The suspension has been much improved suspension from 2010, though all 500Cs from mid 2009 have the improved suspension.
