Which MPV offers a flat load bed and good economy?

I would like to buy an estate car, as its flat load bed will be very useful. I fancied an SUV but, with the price of fuel, cannot justify the cost as the vast majority of time it's just me in the vehicle. So I was considering a Golf estate diesel or BMW 320 diesel, or even a Focus, and I have a budget of around £10,000.

You could consider waiting for the Dacia Duster to arrive in late autumn, which features the well known 1.5-litre Renault engine which has now even been adopted by Mercedes for the new A-Class diesel.: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/dacia/duster-2012/
