Does the MkVII Volkswagen Golf DSG automatic still suffer from hesitation under acceleration?

In 2006 when I lived in Spain I bought a Mark V Volkswagen Golf 2.0 TDI with DSG gearbox. I liked the car very much although the engine was rather noisy and had no hesitation problems with the DSG, but then I lived in a rather quiet area and rarely had to join traffic from a standstill. Since returning to England I have had a Honda Civic and a Suzuki Swift with auto gears. I am now considering buying a Mark VII Golf TSI 1.2 or 1.4 with DSG but am concerned about various (and regular) comments from readers about hesitation problems. Do you know if these still remain with the latest Mark VII Golfs?

Apparently they're still built-in to protect the transmissions, but I have not experienced them myself because I have only driven one Mk VII Golf and that was a manual. I’m still getting plenty of reports. The problem is firstly the necessity to brake to move the lever from N to D, so whether you shift to N at a junction or merely sit on the brakes in D you still have to brake. The brake light switch then tells the car's ECU to cut fuel supply to the engine. The problem is that the message to supply fuel again is slightly delayed to reduce torque stress on first and second gears.
