Is there a less van-like vehicle that will compare with the Peugeot Partner Combi for load carrying?

My wife has a 2003 2.0-litre diesel Peugeot Partner Combi, which has been an excellent multi-purpose workhorse especially as an incredible load-carrier, mainly due to its internal height and huge capacity with the rear seats down. The time has come to change it, and although the updated version would be an option, I wonder if there is anything else on the market with similar attributes you could recommend that might look a little less 'van-like'?

Not really, no. But the new version is a much stronger, better riding, better handling, altogether better vehicle. It's better in these respects than quite a few hatchbacks. Test of identical Berlingo Multispace II here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/useful-websites/tax-insurance.../
