Which small second car should I buy?

What should I get, a new Panda, a new Volkswagen Up, or newish but second hand Polo?

I've just retired and I'm buying a camper van, but I need a second car for local runs, supermarket shopping etc. I have a replacement knee, so easy access is an issue - can't have anything too low. Four doors are preferred.

This will possibly be our last car purchase, so it must be reliable and comfortable, but a bit of fun please! Budget is £8000-£12,000 and I cover around 9000 miles a year.
