Ford Fiesta broken down with battery issue

I purchased a brand new Ford Fiesta in August 2014. The car stopped working in December and the AA identified an issue with the battery.
The car was checked into the dealer for repair under warranty and the following issues came up:

1) It appeared that the incorrect licence plate was fitted to the car by the garage when it was handed over to me. On my insistence, the garage have now sent me a letter to confirm that they affixed the incorrect plate.

2) The battery issue is apparently related to the on-board computer and the radio, and I was informed in December that no permanent fix was currently available.

3)As a temporary fix, the service department suggested driving with the radio on (even if the sound is turned down completely).

4) I rejected their solution, as in my opinion it is not acceptable. I believe their solution could mean that I could be left stranded with a dead battery at any point. Besides, if I accept this temporary fix, what is the incentive for the garage to provide me with the permanent fix under warranty?

5)After repeated calls with both the garage and Ford HQ, I was told a permanent fix would be available at the beginning of January. This has now been updated to the end of January.

What would you recommend my next step should be? I'm 33, single, female and short. I'm sorry to say that the garage do not seem to be taking me seriously.

This is a well-known problem with the Fiesta. Obviously if the counter-intuitive temporary solution offered by Ford works and does not leave you stranded then you should adopt it until a permanent fix is found. This is nothing to do with you being a woman. It affects both sexes of Fiesta driver.
