Timing chain reliability on a Peugeot 3008

Can you confirm if the well-documented timing chain issues with the PSA/BMW 1.6 petrol engines are confined to the turbo THP type, or include the non-turbo VTI models too? I have read the THP is a 'direct injection' engine and the VTI is a 'indirect injection' engine. Is this a factor?

I have a 2012 Peugeot 3008 1.6 VTI Sport (current mileage 17.5k) which I am very happy with. I do approx 6,000 miles a year, and it has had fresh oil/filter every 12 months (FMDSH).

Should I be concerned?

Very good question. Last October owners of 308s with the 1.6VTI 120PS engine were getting notices that their timing chains needed to be changed: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/peugeot/308-2007/?se...d
