Which hybrid is best for £30k?

I currently drive a Skoda Yeti 2.0 TDI and am looking to change. For the type of driving we now do a hybrid seems to make sense. I am quite taken with the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Also in the frame is the Toyota Prius+, but this seems expensive compared to the Outlander.

Is there any truth in the rumour that Toyota will be bringing out a RAV4 hybrid soon? Are there any other hybrids of a similar size/spec/price which I should be considering? I am looking to spend up to £30,000 after the Government discount.

Everyone is bringing out hybrid SUVs, but not for £30k. You'll need a bit more than that. The current RAV-4 isn't great anyway. There should, eventually, be a Honda HR-V hybrid in the UK that will be under £30k. Meanwhile, the Outlander PHEV makes a lot of sense if you won't be regularly driving distance on motorways.
