which used diesel will suit me

hi

i do about 18,000 miles a year, but this may go up even further, so i am looking at a diesel

i am after one that's reliable and cheap to run, probably from about 2008 or 2009

do you have any suggestions? also what kind of mileage should i be looking at, i saw one with 80k miles is this too much?

thanks!

Hyundai i30 1.6CRDI or KIA cee'd 1.6CRDI. These did not have DPFs until 2010. 80k miles is high for a diesel with a DPF because by then the DPF will be starting to fill with ash. Also high for a timing belt engine. Hyundai/KIA are chain cam, so if the engine has been well maintained the only worries might be the waterpump and turbo.
