MINI Cooper D gearbox rattle
In 2012 I bought a new MINI Cooper D. After just 12 weeks of ownership the car developed a rattle when changing gear. The MINI dealer replaced both the gearbox and clutch. Sine 70,000 miles later the car is making the same noise. Do I keep the car or change it? Also the brake pads are only lasting 20,000 miles, is this normal?

The rattle will be the dual mass flywheel. I'd guess that flywheel and clutch need replacing, not the gearbox. Not a very good life for a DMF and clutch but not bad enough to get free replacements. 20k miles is about average for front brake pads.
