Why aren't my glow plugs working?

My glow plugs are fully working, but when I try starting my car whilst the glow plugs are connected to the car they don't work.

It sounds as though you have an electrical fault that is stopping the feed to the glow plugs. The job of the glow plugs is only to preheat the cylinder prior to starting, and once the engine is running there is no need for them.
