Should I replace my Toyota Yaris with a Volvo C30?

I have a Toyota Yaris 1.4M D-4D TR which I bought new in 2008. I have been pleased with the car, except for its lack of pulling power going up hills. For this reason I am thinking of buying a Volvo C30 S1.6 DRIVe. I test-drove a BMW 1 Series but felt boxed in. I have also looked at the Ford Fiesta Titanium 1.6 diesel. Should I be looking at any other makes? I am not keen on a Volkswagen Golf diesel as I was dissatisfied with a previous Golf and found Volkswagen most unhelpful. I average about 11,000 miles a year of mixed urban and motorway driving.

A C30 1.6 DRIVe is quite a nice car, low in CO2 and high in economy.
