Is it still worthwhile importing luxury cars from Europe into the UK?

Some years ago I saved a considerable sum by importing a highly specced Mercedes-Benz from Holland. I am now looking at buying the new S-Class with the new diesel engine and wondered whether it was still either possible, or worth the effort, to try and import another car, and if so from which country?

Ever since Sterling collapsed against the Euro the UK has been the cheapest country in Europe in which to source a new car, which is why the Germans are holding up so many RHD exports to the UK. They would rather build LHDs for more profitable markets.
