Why is Skyactiv tech unlikely to cause problems?

Why is the Skyactiv system less likely to cause problems than a 'regular' diesel. I am also aware of your recommendation to only buy a diesel if you do 15K or more miles a year. Does this still hold? I ask because I am after a medium-size 4x4 with an auto gearbox and the CX-5 only does petrol models in manual form.

Because of the way the exhaust manifold is incorporated into the head to make sure everything heats up faster. The Renault 1.6DCI 130 also has this technology and is fitted to the Qashqai as well as the Scenic and Megane.
