Should my son cancel his car insurance when he goes away to university?

My son owns a Peugeot 106 1.1 Independence and is soon to go to university. His insurer will only allow him to cancel his insurance and get about £350 back from an annual policy premium of £940. Would he be better leaving the policy in place and earning another year NCD, or taking the money?

I can't tell you because I don't know how much NCD he will get next year. You need to ask.
