Which vans are best for fuel economy?
I'm getting a van and I want one in which two people could sleep in the back and do some rough camping on surf trips. The biggest issue for me is fuel economy. I have only £2500 to spend. I have a 1997 Volkswagen Golf 1.4 petrol at the moment and I'm getting about 40 miles to the gallon. I'm about to go and look at a 2003 Renault Trafic SWB 1.9 diesel, and I want to know roughly what I'd expect to get in terms of fuel economy. How would this van compare to a 2000 Volkswagen Transporter 1.9d or a Citroen Dispatch 1.9d?
