Ford Fiesta Econetic van wins award

The Ford Fiesta Econetic van has won the best green van category in the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards (BIVSA), run by Thatcham. It’s the third consecutive year that the Fiesta has taken the award.

It’s given to the van with the lowest CO2 emissions on sale – the Fiesta Econetic van has emissions of 87g/km and official economy of 85.6mpg. This is thanks to low rolling resistance tyres, lower suspension and a recalibrated 1.6-litre diesel engine.

The van is available from £10,800 and is based on the Fiesta hatchback,Britain’s bestselling car. It shares much of the car’s interior but with the rear seats removed to increase space. Additionally, the rear side windows are blanked out.
