How do you rate a 1994 Volkswagen Transporter 2.5 petrol automatic as a camper? It has 43,000 miles on the clock. I am familiar with the Autosleeper conversion

The 2.5 petrol T4 Transporter has lots of power but will be very expensive to run. We've heard of owners getting as little as 17mpg with a fully loaded van and this means you will soon be on first name terms with the guys at your local fuel station.
I would also be concerned about the low mileage, as 43,000 miles suggests that the van has been laid up for long periods. This makes it susceptible to all kinds of age-related chassis, suspension and mechanical problems.
