Should I get a Ford Transit Custom or a Volkswagen T5 Transporter?

Given all the pros and cons and what you know about the Ford Transit Custom and Volkswagen T5 Transporter, if you were to buy a 2014 year combi van to run for the next four to five years, which one would you advise to purchase?

I’d buy the Ford Transit Custom. It’s better to drive and hasn’t had anywhere near the number of reported mechanical issues as the Volkswagen T5. For all of the reported problems see:
