Great value, incredibly practical multi-purpose transport

This is our fifth Citroen Berlingo Multispace. We originally bought the previous model when we started looking after our grandchildren. The rear sliding doors, roof height and low boot sill meant that it was perfect for transporting babies and all their attendant gear, such as push chairs etc. Also the rear sliding doors means it's ideally suited for getting small children in and out of the rear seat , especially in tight spaces or with traffic going past. Our latest version, with the 1.2 Puretech petrol engine, retains all of the virtues of the previous diesel versions, but is more refined and has better acceleration and suspension settings. However, it does use about 15% more fuel. We frequently do long motorway journeys and the Berlingo is very happy to cruise at the speed limit with plenty of power to hand for safe overtaking. Other attributes include excellent all round vision, seats that are at the right height for getting in and out, a huge flexible boot space with fully removable rear seats for large loads and a decent integrated sat nav and music system.
