Overall reliability

Very reliable but has comfort, braking and ride shortcomings.

This van has been on a par with the previous model that I owned. The extra power and 6 speed gearbox give exceptional performance and reasonable economy ( average of 35 mpg ). Lots of useful standard equipment, ( self locking doors, battery economy device, etc. ). Side loading doors on both sides a real boon and the ability to run at maxium payload all of the time without any real effect on handling etc. The negative aspects are as follows : The ride I would describe as very firm ( even though this is the standard 1000kg payload version ). Any roads other than motorway smooth, ( which means all roads nowadays ) mean that the suspension is "crashing" constantly. These vans suffer with very poor quality anti roll bar rubbers which can not be changed by themselves. You have to change the anti roll bar complete with the links, (£160 + vat, 3.8 hours of labour ). So unless you change it regularly you have it rattling all of the time. The drivers seat has no real support or comfort compared to a Transit, Transit Connect, Renault Trafic etc. The footbrake has never inspired confidence, ( the pedal sinks to the floor ). Even after countless pressure brake bleeding sessions and a new master cylinder it remains very poor.
