Ford Tourneo Custom (2013 - 2024)
LWB 300 Limited 2.2 TDCi 155PS Low Roof People Mover
It's versatile.
I got this to replace my 997 Turbo. (Actually - I had to sell the Porsche to put a deposit on my new home and wanted a van for my toys! I wanted sliding doors both sides, a tailgate, glass in the back and space for kitesurf kit, changing, sleeping, bicycles, taxiing pals to the pub. (I'm teetotal.....)
The van has been fine. Starts every time, does 34 mpg real world, was fine on the wrong side of the road in Europe, was ok on foreign fuel. It took my Honda Blackbird to the menders, been to the tip many times, to the pub many times. My modesty has been protected changing at the beach and it's easy to move the chairs in and out. They are heavy tho'.
problems? From the start it has a few dribbles of water down the inside of the rear screen in heavy rain. This does not occur when Ford tried to find the leak so they don't believe me. The drivers door hinges creased the front wing and structure when I opened it in high winds - needed the back street boys to jack it back into place. Hinges are too long and therefore provide too much leverage...... One recall to replace an oil pump done efficiently, always seem to be urgent upgrades waiting on the computer when it goes for a service and they take hours to download....
Easy to drive, good all round visibility, great proximity sensors, 600 miles to a tank..
My Mum likes it.
