Nissan Navara gets improved, more efficient engine

The Nissan Navara’s 2.3-litre diesel engine, both in 190PS and 160PS forms, has been improved, with the addition of an AdBlue system and standard start stop to reduce emissions and improve economy. As a result the Navara is now Euro 6 compliant.

Improvements aren’t huge, however. The most frugal variant gains an economy boost of just 1.4mpg, up to 46.3mpg, while emissions have fallen by 8g/km to 159g/km. The AdBlue system can be filled from bottles or pumps and needs to be topped up around every 7000 miles.

As well as the improved engine, Nissan is now fitting all Navara models with cruise control, speed limiter, Bluetooth and multi-function steering wheel buttons. Its one-tonne payload capacity and 3500kg towing capacity remain unchanged, as does the five-year, 100,000 mile warranty.
