November 2008

Hyundai announces iLoad

The medium panel van gets a 116PS 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine, twin sliding side doors and five-year, 100,000-mile warranty. It costs from £13,595 plus VAT. Air conditioning and steel bulkhead are also standard, along with electric windows, CD stereo, central locking, driver and passenger airbags and height adjustment for both front seats.

March 2011

The iLoad gains a Euro 5-compliant engine with a drop in carbon dioxide emissions to 199g/km and an increase in economy to 37.2mpg.

December 2012

Three star Euro NCAP rating

The Hyundai i800 - the people carrier version of the iLoad - is awarded three stars in Euro NCAP crash tests. The Adult occupancy safety rating was 58 per cent while child occupant safety was 75 per cent. Pedestrian safety was 34 per cent with safety assist receiving 43 per cent. As a comparison the Renault Trafic (the identical van to the Nissan Primastar and Vauxhall Vivaro) was awarded just two stars while the Ford Transit Custom got an impressive five stars.
