Mercedes-Benz Vito (2003–2015)

What's good

Ride comfort and supremely hushed cabin are matched by the Mercedes-Benz Vito’s fine handling and punchy performance. Driver’s seat is also very comfortable.

Strong engine line-up works well in all conditions and both the manual and automatic gearboxes are smooth. V6 gives the Vito a serious turn of speed and low-down shove.

Plenty of choice for configuring the Vito thanks to three body lengths, two wheelbase options and two different roof heights.

What's bad

Mercedes-Benz persists with its foot-operated parking brake and hand release, which lets go with quite a bang. A normal handbrake would be a better solution.

Space for passengers is not as good as in some rivals, especially for taller passengers and those sat in the middle seat.

Recall 16-06-2011: Air conditioning bracket may chafe wiring and cause fire risk.

Recall 24-08-2011: Air conditioning fan relay may overheat and cause fire.

Recall 29-02-2012: Pillar check strap may detach dangerously when side airbag deploys.
