What's good
Great fun to drive in all conditions and very comfortable for longer distances thanks to supple suspension.
Punchy engines offer strong performance coupled to low running costs, plus there’s a slick six-speed gearbox.
Well appointed cab offers good space for two, supportive seats and good vision for driver.
What's bad
Recall 06-04-2006: Possible loss of steering control due to incorrectly mounted right-hand front lower control arm.
Recall 22-05-2008: Risk of fire due to upper oil pressure switch releasing oil onto exhaust manifold heat protection shield.
The Astravan doesn’t offer as much cargo space or payload capacity as many of its rivals.
Access to the load area is hindered by no sliding side door and only the tailgate for loading.
More storage options in the cab would be welcome, as well as keeping the interior tidier.
