Ford Transit Custom (2013 - 2024)
van 290 lwb 2.2 TDCi 125 Low Roof Limited
Still disappoints in space, practicality and mpg
Had this van from new in July 2014, 8500 miles on it now. Around town with aircon on - 26mpg, average speed 14mph.
Surface rust on engine mount near the alternator from where it rains into the engine compartments, see previous posts and still no modifications from Ford for this water ingress, which also runs onto the ECU.
The space is still the most disappointing issue due to design, both in the front and rear - and yes I have the lwb version.
Drivers door marked the wing due to its weight and lack of support, a common fault.
Alloys a pain to clean, they should be an option as they serve no functional purpose.
No vans are perfect, but looking back I would have considered the Vauxhall twin turbo Vivaro Sportive as talking to owners the space and MPG are much better + its built in the UK and cheaper to buy.
Positive is the fold down roof rack, a pricey option but worth it.
