its ok

Being the first merc on the fleet I was expecting great things from an old legend of a van.
the good Bits, its nice to drive car like- it has the hard glass fibre flooring on the back so easy to clean-parking is easy-its low roof height great for ladders-looks good sign written.the cruse control works well down to 20mph hand for slow traffic - seats are good and the cabs well put together- the delaers merc at dartford brand new mega show room were great honest and looked after me.

the bad bits- you can't get a coffee cup in the single dash cup holder as its made for tiny cups-no dab radio- no auto wing mirrors they are manual-the stupid foot brake is the worse I have ever had i never got used to it is just a total pain poor design nonsense foot break and pointless I hate it. It got 28k now and got sensors coming up so first recall for doors sensors - the gearbox is a little odd easy to stall as you get caught in high gear. i don't think this is a builder van as the sliding door has a lot of nooks for debris to get in so that needs clearing out and its a devil to get in to clear out the bottom rail. the van overall is very low so you clip carpark ramps and its low visablilty so not the safetest of vans when looking round parked cars. so far its been to work every day and not let us down but its not the robust van like our vw or out nissans so not sure, we got the merc engine avoiding the renault engine as its a big van so dont belive in small engines if you want to keep and work the van for 4 years plus. my dad has a 11 plate auto and its faster stronger and better to drive, these vitos have been cheapened to comepte with renaul and the likes. no longer a legend. would i buy a 2nd merc, yes if it was the same price as the nissan or vw but i would not pay a premium for a standard van like the vito.
