Tough new emission regulations are on the way as towns and cities take measures to combat air pollution. That means vans and pick-ups that don’t meet Euro6 emission standards will either be charged a daily fee or be banned from entering some urban areas.

Ford Transit Custom
The Ford Transit Custom has some of the best diesels in the business, although we’d recommend the latest 2.0 EcoBlue turbodiesels over the older 2.2 TDCi engines. The 2.0-litre units were introduced in 2017 and return an official 46.3mpg and 157g/km of CO2, along with a 55 per cent reduction in NOx gasses compared to the older Euro5s.
