Volkswagen Caddy - 77.5% pass rate

The Volkswagen Caddy performs 19 per cent better than other small vans at the first MoT, with low failure rates on all of the most-common MoT hotspots. Even brake and suspension issues are minor, with the latter recording a failure rate of just 1.3 per cent.

Indeed, the Caddy would be higher on this list if its tyre performance was better. According to the MoT Files, the Caddy is 50 per cent more likely to fail the first MoT on tyres than its rivals, with tread depth and tyre condition being the two big failure points.
